Yankees continue to dominate the Twins

Monday the Yankees played the Twins in the first game of the three game series. In the past the Yankees have beat the Twins in every game but 2. The last time the Twins beat the Yankees was when Kubel hit a 9th inning grand slam off of Mariano Rivera. It did not happen last night as the Yankees win 4-3. The Yankees continue to crush the ball hitting two, two run home runs in the first two innings. Alex Rodriguez hit the first one into the seats in left and Jorge Posada hit one to rows back in right field. The Yankees have gotten production at the plate from everyone except the first two batters, Brett Gardner and Derek Jeter. Derek Jeter says he is still working on his swing and he hit the ball hard but right at people. Brett Gardner is hitting the balls well but his hits haven’t fallen in to play. Mark Teixeira had a chance to join Mark McGwire and Willie Mays in the small club of people who have it a home run in their first four games. Teixeira did not hit the home run but Nelson Cruz did.
The Yankees threw Ivan Nova, Chamberlin, Soriano, and Rivera. Ivan Nova gave the Yanks a little surprise as he goes 6.0 innings 3 strikeouts 2 walks 5 hits 3 runs and an ERA of 3. Mariano Rivera recorded his 3rd save this season.
In the second game of the series the Twins bounced back to beat the Yanks after they killed Soriano.
